Towing capacity for this model was 6,900 lbs for the double cabs and 7,100 lbs for the access and regular cabs containing the V8 engine. This did not allow the Tundra to compete with the heavy-duty competition. The second generation Tundra started production in 2007 and is still being built today. Three body styles are available to you: a two-door regular cab, a four-door double cab and a four-door crewmax edition. Four engines are available as well: a 4.0L 236 hp engine, a 4.7L 476 hp engine, a 4.6L that produces 310 hp and a 5.7L that makes 381 hp. The more powerful engine can now tow over 10,000 lbs allowing it to contend with the heavy-duty competition.
