The Mazda Tribute is a five-door SUV that has been in production since 2001. With a front mounted engine, the Tribute comes standard with front-wheel drive and has the option to be upgraded to four-wheel drive.

The first generation Tribute was in production from 2001 to 2007. The two engines offered to the consumer were the 2.3 L 153 hp four-cylinder or the more powerful 3.0 L 203 hp V6. You could then match up a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic gearbox. This model was assembled in Japan, the United States, Taiwan and Thailand. This generation was available in either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and featured a rather comfortable interior. In 2005, Mazda decided to make some changes to the first generation model. They now offered a different 2.3 L four-cylinder engine, which was more economical, and a floor mounted transmission shifter replaced the column shifter. In 2008, a hybrid version of the Tribute went on sale as well.

The second generation started with the Mazda Tribute 2009 model and is still being built today. The US version of the tribute is assembled in Claycomo, Missouri. Two engine types are provided by Mazda, a 2.5 L four-cylinder and a 3.0L V6. The consumer can then match up a six-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual gearbox to the engine. Many changes were given to the new Tribute, mainly inside the vehicle. An all new interior is featured, using newer components and higher quality materials. Journalists and car critics really enjoy the upgraded interior. Not much has changed to the exterior. The front-end is a little bit different but the overall shape remains the same. Defined wheel arches and a longer shape are noticeably different.
