The Hyundai Tucson is a five door SUV that has been in production since 2004. It has a front mounted engine and comes in either front wheel drive or four wheel drive. The first generation Tucson was built between 2004 and 2009 with the choice of three engines and three transmission types. You could choose between a 2.0L four cylinder, a 2.0L diesel or a 2.7L V6. You then could match these engines with a five speed manual transmission, a six speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic. The new Tuscon has sharper edges and is much more fluid, giving this vehicle a very high quality look. For 2011, the Tucson will be given a new 2.0 liter engine that is mated with a six speed manual or six speed automatic transmission. This new engine will see much better fuel economy compared to the 2.4 L engine that is currently in the Tucson. New standard equipment will also be available including new dampeners for a smoother ride and an upgraded stability control system and the 2011 AWD models also come standard with heated seats.
