In 1984, Honda released its first performance version of the Civic, named the Civic Si. In the U.S., this Civic hatchback (SI) included a 12 valve engine producing 91 HP. Since 2000, the Civic has experienced a dramatic external redesign and is now offered as both Civic Coupe and Civic Sedan.
